“Aural architecture refers to the properties of a space that can be experienced by listening. An aural architect, acting both as an artist and social engineer, is therefore someone who selects specific aural attributes of a space based on what is desirable in a particular cultural framework.” (Blesser and Slater, 2006)
A small pavilion structure was proposed for the Aarhus Festival 2011 that explored the relationship between sound and space. The bell toll of Aarhus Cathedral was analysed and interpreted into a spatial form; the structure became an instrument.
